Brighton Recreation Area, part of the State of Michigan Parks and Recreation system, provides 4,947 acres of recreation for park visitors to use.  The area has a combination of high, irregular ranges of hills, interspersed with a number of attractive lakes.   It has several miles of trails available for equestrian use, mountain biking, and hiking.

There are several campgrounds available as well, again ranging from modern to rustic – both tent camping and cabins.  There are group camps as well.

Brighton Rec Area is most known for it’s riding stable.  Spend a day at the stable – there is even a summer day camp for your kids, if you like – and take an equestrian tour of the 18 mile trail specific for that use.
