Pinckney Recreation Area, which is part of the State of Michigan Parks and Recreation system, is a paradise for backpackers, mountain bikers, anglers and other recreation enthusiasts.   Pinckney is known for its extensive trail system and chain of excellent fishing lakes. Over forty miles of multi-use trail with remote campsites afford a backcountry experience.

Do you like to mountain bike?  Enthusiasts from this area will rave to you about the Potowatami Trail – a 17 mile – challenging biking trail.  Affectionately known as the “Poto” you can stay on top of the current trail conditions through the Michigan Mountain Biking Association.

The Pinckney Rec Area is home to the Patterson/Half Moon chain of lakes, Bruin Lake, Silver Lake park/beach area, just to name a few of the swimming/boating activities available.
